Founder Story
Faraday Battery was founded in the UK in 2019 by Sanjay Gupta, an engineer and entrepreneur driven by a simple conviction: clean, battery-powered transportation should be affordable and accessible to everyone, not a privilege for the few. Sanjay holds a Master's degree (MBA) from Cardiff University and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, combining deep technical foundations with business leadership. With over 15 years of experience in IT and software development and as the author of six patents, he brings a first-principles, inventive mindset to energy systems - questioning assumptions, redesigning fundamentals, and focusing on real-world impact. Faraday Battery was created to translate this vision into reality: batteries engineered not just for performance, but for economic freedom, enabling widespread adoption of electric mobility across homes, businesses, and transport fleets.
